It’s such an honor to have one of my poems selected to be included in Best New Poets 2022, which is full of amazing poems by poets who have not yet published a full-length book. My poem, “On looking away,” was written about my mother’s final days and I wrote it as I was grieving my father, who died in Spring of 2021.
